New Trauma Certification

Elaine has completed a new certification!

This new certification is a PESI course titled, “Certified Family Trauma Professional Intensive Training: The Most Effective Techniques for Treating Traumatized Children, Adolescents, and Families.” The training took place over two days lead by Robert Rhoton, PSYD, LPC, D.A.A.E.T.S. PESI, the hosting organization, is a leading provider of behavioral health continued education.

Why Trauma?

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is no rare ailment. According to PTSD United:

“70% of adults in the U.S. have experienced some type of traumatic event at least once in their lives. This equates to approximately 223.4 million people

Furthermore, an estimated 8% of Americans − 24.4 million people − have PTSD at any given time. That is equal to the total population of Texas.”

Therapy can lessen the pain of traumatic memories. A trained therapist first helps the affected person find what emotional needs the traumatic experience damaged. Then, they discover how to fill the holes. The healing comes from the realization that a past experience doesn’t solidify a hopeless future. Elaine’s education helps her help her clients find and follow their hope.

Elaine is determined to provide the highest quality therapy to her clients. Consequently, she responds to her clients’ needs by obtaining the latest specialized education. Hence, her new certification in trauma. She loves aiding in her clients’ healing processes and looks forward to using her new training to be increasingly more effective.
